Captain Marvel - Trailer 1 Review
The first trailer for Captain Marvel has arrived. Does it deliver?
Thoughts: After having seen the first images released by Entertainment Weekly, I was really looking forward to the trailer.
Now granted, each trailer has their own role. The first trailer is not designed to give away the entire plot of the movie. Its goal is to get people to realize that the film is coming out sometime in the near future by giving exciting visuals and character moments.
And this trailer had plenty of those. Now, speaking as a hardcore Marvel fan who knows most of the concepts of the films before they come out, I understood that this was going to be set in the 90's and Nick Fury, Phil Coulson, and Ronan the Accuser would be in the film. However, to a casual viewer, I felt that this trailer did a great job setting up these elements by immediately opening the film with Carol Danvers landing in a Blockbuster.
Aside from that, little flashes like Carol Danvers at the end going "Binary" and unleashing her full power, or Nick Fury onscreen with both of his eyes really made this trailer.
Did it Raise Excitement? I think, more so than the trailer itself, the pictures and the concepts that were released before the trailer raised my excitement to "a Marvel movie coming sometime" to "THIS IS COMING". But this trailer didn't hurt it either. It did its job as a first teaser, and I am looking forward to the movie even more.
