Avengers: Endgame - Trailer 2 Review

Avengers: Endgame - Trailer 2 Review

The second trailer for Avengers: Endgame has arrived. Does it deliver?

Thoughts: When the first teaser hit, followed shortly by the Super Bowl spot, fans were clamoring for more. The pieces of footage did well to whet the appetite BUT there was hardly anything shown. Sure, there were a few shots of characters that we know and love (Hawkeye anyone?) but there really wasn't much of anything.

While this trailer follows that exact same formula, this trailer is absolutely mind-blowing for a Marvel fan.

This trailer makes sure it tells you almost absolutely nothing about the film itself. We don't even see Thanos. We haven't actually seen Thanos in his full glory in any of the marketing. And that's okay because maybe it's best we don't know anything about what he's going to be up to in the movie.

We get glimpses of previous Marvel films, desaturated, but with red highlighted in all the frames, signifying the blood that lie on the Avenger's hands.

We see shots of Hawkeye with his daughter, who we know will dust towards the beginning of the movie. We actually get a lot more of Hawkeye than a lot of the other heroes. Here's hoping his role in the film will make up for his noticeable absence in Infinity War.

And it looks like Tony's back! Whatever he did to get off the Benatar and back on earth, it worked. He and Nebula are in the final shots of the Avengers marching off to fix the mess Thanos created. With their new Quantum Realm suits, which look incredible. For the first time, perhaps ever, the Avengers look like a team. And I think that's fitting. This is their last effort and they're going to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

This trailer doesn't deliver anything on story, no, but it delivers everything on excitement. And as a Marvel fan, that's all I could have ever asked for.

Did it Raise Excitement? Is it even possible to be more excited for this film? Probably not. But this trailer did it. Somehow, it did it. I know nothing, and that's the best thing that could have ever happened leading up to the movie. Marvel is KILLING this marketing.

Trailer Rating: 10/10
