Kevin Feige on Zendaya's Michelle
**SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING LIE BELOW. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.**
With the recent release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans have been curious about who exactly Zendaya's character is. After the stunning reveal that she refers to herself as "MJ", a moniker used int he comics by Mary Jane Watson, fans were curious as to whether or not this meant anything in terms of a romantic relationship between her and Peter Parker.
Speaking to Den of Geek, head of Marvel studios Kevin Feige said this:
"In setting up this will be a very different thing; she's not Mary Jane Watson, that's not who the character isBut giving her the initials that remind you of that dynamic certainly is intriguing about what could forward."
Speaking about a possible romantic relationship between her and Peter he said this:
"Clearly she says she's not obsessed with him, she's just observant. But she's there. And to have fun with that while at the same time having it be different characters that can provide a different dynamic [is the point]."
We''ll have to wait and see for when she next appears in the MCU.
