John Boyega Gives New Information on Episode IX

With all the secrecy surrounding the upcoming Star Wars films, as well as the imminent release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, next to nothing is known about the final film in the new trilogy of the space saga. However, speaking at AwesomeCon through /Film, John Boyega dished some new details on his status as well as the tone of the film.

Boyega says:

"I haven't read the script for Episode IX. But Daisy did shoot me a text saying, 'Oh my gosh, I just heard from J.J. [Abrams], and we're back together.' That's what I'm really excited about. Is Finn and Rey back together."

Talking about the tone of the film, he adds:

"I think it's going to be all-out war in this final chapter, so we need to be prepared."

While Boyega is one of the biggest stars of the new franchise, it is worth noting that he did mention he had not read the script yet, so it remains to be seen how much of this is true and how much is his own speculation.

Star Wars Episode 9 will be directed by J.J. Abrams and will hit theaters in December of 2019.
