Black Panther - Teaser Trailer Review
As Marvel begins to kick into high gear, approaching the mega event known as Infinity War, many would be forgiven if they overlooked the release of Black Panther this coming February. However, with a new trailer, the buzz has immediately been restored following Chadwick Boseman's debut in Captain America: Civil War.
Thoughts: Marvel Studios has a history of releasing amazing first railers, dating all the way back to the early days with Age of Ultron, Civil War, and Guardians 2. They continue this tradition by releasing an excellent teaser to their newest film. Unrelated to the quality of the trailer, I feel that they should have released a second Thor: Ragnarok trailer sometime in July ahead of Spider-Man: Homecoming and then released a Black Panther trailer sometime in late July or early August, giving the film plenty of time to be marketed. Marketing aside, the trailer opens with two familiar faces in Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis as Everett Ross and Ulysses Klaue, respectively. From there, we only get glimpses of Wakanda and what is in store, with a voiceover narrating how it will be hard for T'Challa to remain the king of his own nation. We see glimpses of Forest Whitaker and Michael B. Jordan, who will both have prominent roles in the film.
Did it Raise Excitement? Absolutely. Black Panther was the last thing I was thinking about before the trailer dropped, but once it did, I immediately became that much more excited for the film.
