Top Ten #3 - Top Ten Force Users (in Star Wars Canon)
Introduction: In the galaxy far, far away, there are many who say they can use the force. But Who are the most powerful? Today, we are taking a look at those who can use the force and ranking them. This ranking will take into account how well they harness the force, how well they are in combat, and how capable and strong they are in general. These characters will all be taken from the new canon that was instated when Disney bought Lucasfilm. Let's take a look
10. Darth Tyrannus/Count Dooku: While not talked about as much as he should be, Count Dooku is quietly one of the most powerful Sith. He met his demise only to Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, but managed to best him before. He also has bested Obi-Wan, and stood his ground against Master Yoda. His unique lightsaber combat and his penchant for using force lightning has made him become of the most feared Siths across the galaxy in his time.

9. Supreme Leader Snoke: Not much is known about this new character into the Star Wars canon; however, what is known about him is very revealing. He has been alive to see the Clone Wars and the rise and the fall of the Empire and is said to be one of the most powerful Force-users ever. Perhaps he will skyrocket up the list after The Last Jedi but for now, he'll settle in at number 9.
8. Rey: Like Snoke, not much is known about Rey. Had we known more about her, she would be much higher on the list, but we can only judge based on what we haven seen in The Force Awakens. And what we have seen is that she has an incredible potential in the Force, Her strength and her confidence in her abilities leads us to believe she is something more powerful than we could have ever imagined. This is all speculation, and we can't say for sure, but who's to say that some day she couldn't be number one on this list?
7. Darth Maul: The Zabrak that made an impression in Episode I would not be on the list had it not been for one thing: television. The Clone Wars and Rebels managed to take the formidable foe that apparently met his demise in The Phantom Menace and made him into a compelling character with a satisfying arc. It started with Obi-Wan, and it ended with Obi-Wan, but not before Maul put up a fight, lasting through the Republic and into the Rebellion/Empire.
6. Luke Skywalker: While I was tempted to put him much higher on the list, Luke still hasn't quite proven himself. He was last seen being electrocuted by the Emperor before his father saved him. Like many characters on the list, a lot can change by the time the Last Jedi comes out, but as of now, Luke, though incredibly powerful and strong in the Force, has much to learn.
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi: The master to both Anakin and Luke Skywalker, this Jedi Master is seasoned and knows much about the Force. Perhaps surpassing his physical strength, however, is his wisdom. Both Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness brought a presence onto the screen that most Jedi cannot claim to have. This was embodied even in his death, where Obi-Wan made a sacrifice that he knew had to be made in order to save Luke, Han, Chewie, and Leia from death.
4. Mace Windu: While not fleshed out as much as many had hoped (having been played by legendary Samuel L. Jackson), one thing is known about this Jedi: he was the second most powerful Jedi in the time of the Republic. He single handedly stood his ground against Palpatine while his other Jedi allies fell, and killed the legendary bounty hunter Jango Feat. Oh, and bonus points for his lightsaber - purple is a great color.
3. Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious: The most powerful Sith seen on the screen as of yet, Sidious was both cunning, smart, and cruel, a perfect combination for an Emperor. He nearly single-handedly the entire Senate to promote himself to Supreme Chancellor, and eventually Emperor. He only met his demise because he underestimated how much light side was left in Darth Vader. But still, one of the most powerful men in the galaxy.
2. Master Yoda: Not much is known about his backstory and where he comes from, but one thing is known about him: to mess with him, you would be asking for a death sentence. The strange speech patterns, quirky sense of humor, and small stature are what make this little green Jedi so memorable. But, as he says, his size does not make him powerful - it's his belief in the Force that drives him forward. Always wise, always calm, don't let his nature fool you.
1. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader: Whether or not you're talking about the Jedi or the Sith persona, this man wasn't called the Chosen One for nothing. Aside from the (dumb) high midichlorian count, Anakin's brash, bold, reckless, yet courageous personality allowed him to be one of the best war generals in the Clone Wars. And his ruthless, violent, calm, and menacing persona allowed him to reign as one of the most feared personalities in the Galactic Empire.
