Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 Casts Villain, Brings Back Another
According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 may have found its villains. According to recent reports, famed actor Jake Gyllanhaal, most recently rumored to play the Caped Crusader, Batman, in the Matt Reeve's DC film, will be the main antagonist in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. He will be playing Mysterio, one of the lesser-known villains in Spidey's rogues gallery.
But not only that, but the same report says that another fan favorite villain will be making their return. Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture will be returning according to this report. Though not known in what capacity, seeing both Mysterio and Vulture in the same movies does hint at a possible Sinister Six, which has been attempted previously in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but that didn't work out for Sony.
Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will hit theaters on July 5th, 2019.
