The Incredibles II - Trailer 2 Review
Thoughts: I'm going to be quite honest, this trailer is not very good. If Disney had gone ahead and labeled it a "montage", I would have been totally okay with that. But the fact of the matter is that this trailer is full of gags that make little to no sense out of context, moments that I'm sure will be better on the big screen, and a seriously disjointed tone.
Considered me slightly, very worried; because after seeing the trailer, I feel as if I had seen the entire movie, and then some. The over-reliance on gags and humor does not do this trailer a service, and the sudden jumps between dialogue and action are jarring, uneven, and unnecessary.
As an example, the math joke would have been so much funnier if we had seen it on the big screen, or even perfectly timed in a good trailer. But the way it was inserted into the trailer in the middle as a focal point made little to no sense.
Perhaps things will smoothen themselves out by the time the movie hits theaters, but as of right now, some of my immense excitement for the film has turned into worry.
Did it Raise Excitement? As much as I hate to say it, no it didn't. It lowered it a bit actually, and that's simply due to the poor editing of the trailer.
